“A pillow for thee will I bring,
Stuffed with down of angel’s wing.”
In a world that moves so fast, what’s that something special you yourself can do, during the week of Christmas, to ‘act out’ and further your ‘Being an Angel’ to someone…
At this time of year, it won’t be hard to make a difference in someone’s life.
Wouldn’t it be great to do it anonymously – which is the hardest part to do, since many of us like the acknowledgement and the ‘thank you!”
Being an Angel to someone before Christmas Day or after it, when many are not expecting it, is a great Intentional ‘act of kindness’.
Ideas that are simple to do as an angel:
When at Trader Joe’s or your favorite grocery store, pick up a sweet plant (other than a poinsettias), put it in a nice planter holder with a bow and note, and leave it at a neighbors house down the street from where you live. The note could read something like “Just a little early (or late) surprise from your Guardian Angel” – now truly NO one is expecting to receive a message or gift from their angel…
Or a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a nice clear glass vase with a note saying ‘from your holiday messenger.’
Visit a Seniors’ Center with a flower bouquet in a vase while they eating lunch, and say ‘look what Santa gave me to bring here!’
If you travel a lot and have extra miles, offer them to someone who lives far from home and would love to re-connect with loved ones.
Offer to ‘kid sit’ so a mom can have some shopping time alone…
Read to someone who has diminished eyesight.
Sit with someone who spends too much time alone.
Start the new year off by reading stories to children in a library.
