It’s hard to believe it’s November already. Sitting in my office this morning, waiting to meet with a colleague who is preparing to retire and hand off the reins of her business to me, I took a moment to think about how I arrived at this very moment. So many changes have occurred during the past two years. And so many of those changes were a manifestation of the work I did with JoyceAnne Pierce. To grow my business and rebuild my personal life after a difficult divorce, I have participated in her Creating $$$ classes for the past several years.
“Setting goals, in a safe environment with like minded people who become your accountability coaches.”
That’s how I explained the class to my housemate. A year ago, he was working in a car repair shop where he had worked for 23 years. Starting as the shop boy who cleaned up over the years worked up to a lead mechanic position. When the original owner retired another mechanic took over the shop. The new owner treated my housemate with little respect. Many weeks he would be told not to cash his paycheck. My housemate needed to leave, but felt a certain loyalty to the shop and was having difficulty seeing how he could find another job. So, I encouraged him to accompany me to the Creating $$$ class last year. He did and he got results. With JoyceAnne’s guidance, and the help of the other classmates, he was able to visualize his ideal job situation and began to see the path he needed to take. Within 2 months, he accepted an offer for another position, he was able to leave his job on polite terms and he never looked back. He now works in a place where he is appreciated for his talents and expertise by both his clients and his employer. He is shown the appreciation in many ways including monetary bonuses, tickets to events, frequent catered lunches and employee events. He is much happier and making more positive changes in his life.
The Creating $$$ classes are fun and have been very effective for me. Setting 30-, 90- and 120- day goals for my business and personal life helped me create the life I want to live. Utilizing the power of the group visualizing for each other is especially helpful. I often get ideas from the other students. Coming together each week to report on progress and sometimes redesigning our goals as the items on our lists get checked off. If you’re a business owner and want to move some energy into your business for the last two months of this year, get yourself in to the November class!
