A CLINICAL therapist specializing in children’s mental health and well-being can provide help, advice and support to anyone who is anxious or stressed in the wake of the easing of lockdown restrictions across the country.

Les Roberts opened the Hypnotherapy and Wellness Center on Hardshaw Street in St Helens in January of last year, but quickly had to close its doors and halt face-to-face sessions as the Covid pandemic 19 knocked.

She is a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP (neurolinguistic programming) practitioner and also practices Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) in addition to being a specialist counselor in children’s mental health.

The spacious downtown building has comfortable and welcoming therapy rooms with a calming atmosphere unaffected by the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Many of his clients have referred themselves or are visiting him on the recommendation of friends and family.

Les said: “Now that we are slowly coming out of lockdown and the restrictions are lifted, anxieties are at an all time high for adults and children, so now is a great time to talk about mental health issues.

“Having worked in an integrated therapy team with the NHS, I have seen firsthand how important early intervention is.

“I know how effective wellness classes and workshops can be for adults and children with mental health issues.

“With targeted holistic therapies, my clients can be treated with great results.

“It often evolves quickly with quick results and involves changing thought processes and removing emotions – it’s an investment in yourself. ”

Les offers a free initial consultation whether clients have anxiety, sleep disturbances or addiction issues, most people receiving hypnotherapy.

In addition to her therapy and counseling services, Les works two a week at an elementary school working with children and youth as they return to normal life after the lockdown.

She has also been coordinating the telephone counseling service for MIND since June of last year.

Les said: “Child well-being classes are designed to help children better understand their general well-being, learn to deal with anxieties and stress, build self-confidence, social skills and emotional issues for a healthier future.

“Each class focuses on positive outcomes, encouraging children to participate at their own pace. ”
