After taking a course in neurolinguistic programming, Jimmy realized he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a comedian.

Although he only did an unpaid commercial show, he got his first paid standing gig within a month of taking time off from work.

Having since starred in numerous TV and radio shows, it’s fair to say that Jimmy indeed made a great decision in becoming a comedian.

The star recently revealed that he hasn’t spoken to his father for 21 years.

Speaking on Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett’s ‘Parenting Hell’ podcast, he said: “Haven’t seen my dad in 21 years and you know the line where my mom died for me? My dad died for me.

“Which seems very cold, until you meet the guy.”

Jimmy’s mother died of pancreatitis in 2001 and in 2004 his father was arrested for harassment against his sons Colin and Jimmy. However, he was subsequently cleared and compensated.

Jimmy has a relationship with Karoline Copping, editor-in-chief of Channel 5 since 2001. They share a son called Rockefeller, born in 2019.
