Best-selling author James DeBari – Markos Papadatos

DeBari is a native of New York whose years of sales, advertising, marketing, and neurolinguistic programming have made him an expert in the art of persuasion. His best-selling book Practical persuasion helps people use proven persuasion techniques to make their dreams come true.

He is also a successful entrepreneur who currently owns and runs five different companies and businesses. He has been a licensed real estate seller, licensed loan officer, licensed appraiser, licensed home inspector, licensed home improvement contractor, licensed pest control operator, licensed termite, and pesticide applicator, and a licensed neuro-linguist. Programming practitioner.

Each book has a story about its creation, what is the story behind your groundbreaking book “Practical Persuasion”?

The story of my book’s creation is my true love and passion for the art of persuasion. I have been studying neurolinguistic programming for years. And I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 28 years, so I’ve been my own salesperson for decades. Once I realized that there was an art or skill of persuading people that could be broken down into techniques and applied to almost anyone in almost any situation, I became fascinated.

After years of studying persuasion psychology, I decided that instead of reading 20 different books on all types of sales and persuasion techniques, I needed to put them together in one book. I took the most practical techniques and compiled them all in my book “Practical Persuasion”

“Practical persuasion” relates to the art and / or science of persuasion. How did you develop the techniques used in this book?

Most of the techniques that I teach in the book are derived from variations of the hypnotic neuro-linguistic programming language (aka NLP), sales, advertising and marketing strategies as well as other techniques that I have developed. point over years of sales experience.

While writing this book, have you learned anything new about yourself? I realized that I was subconsciously using these techniques and speech patterns almost all of the time. It wasn’t until I started writing them that I realized I was using these techniques whether I was trying to persuade someone or not. They are such a part of my communication that I am using them without my knowledge at this point.

You are a successful entrepreneur who currently owns and runs 5 different companies and businesses, how did you find the time to write this book? Also, what is it like to run so many different businesses and be successful in all of them?

Well, I get asked this question a lot. “Where did you find the time to write another book?” My usual response is “I don’t watch TV” TV is not entertaining enough for me. I think it was Benjamin Franklin who once said “write something worth reading or do something worth writing”. Sitting on the couch and watching TV is not my idea of entertainment so if I’m not in the world to work or spend quality time with my family I write in my journal or i ‘write my next book.

It’s a labor of love, not homework in my opinion. When it comes to owning various different businesses and being successful, that too is a labor of love. I have always viewed success as a journey, not a destination. I have always appreciated the daily life of the different moving parts of each company. This is what keeps me interested and excited. Because I love her so much that it never works for me, it’s always nice. I guess some might think of it as “entrepreneurship” but whatever you call it I’ve always had it and it’s always been a passion for me to run different companies.

‘Practical Persuasion’ is a huge hit with readers. Is there another book or project you can tell us about?

Not yet but I wouldn’t rule out another book.

Practical persuasion is available on Amazon.
