Bid on over 100 items at the virtual Lincoln-Way Foundation Gala on Feb. 12 – Shaw Local

The Lincoln-Way Foundation’s virtual “Love of Lincoln-Way” gala on Feb. 12 will feature a special appeal this year, according to a press release from the foundation.

The foundation also hopes to raise enough funds to purchase a $30,000 CNC plasma machine to benefit students in welding, 3D machining and physical engineering courses, the statement said.

Not only would the purchase impact hundreds of students, but Welding 1 and Welding 2 students receive double credit with Joliet Junior College, according to the release.

Bob Kennedy, the foundation’s executive director, said in the statement that “the foundation is looking to continue supporting ‘Commercial Programs,’ as we have already donated eight welding machines to this award-winning program.”

The virtual gala will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live from Lincoln-Way Central. Attendees can browse and bid on over 100 donated items for this event by visiting lwef2022.givesmart.com.

Winners must pick up their items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on February 13 or from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on February 15 at the Lincoln-Way Central Auditorium. Winners pay full shipping costs for all items, the statement said.

The foundation’s mission is to “creatively generate financial support” to “enrich and enhance the educational opportunities and experiences for students in Lincoln-Way High School District 210,” the statement said.
