Chirayu medical college president’s advance bail, 5 others rejected

BHOPAL (Madhya Pradesh): The District and Sessions Court on Monday denied early bail for six defendants in the PMT-2013 fraud. The Central Bureau of India (CBI), which is investigating the case, objected to the advance bail. The hearing took place at the CBI Tribunal headed by Judge Nitiraj Singh Sisodia.

CBI Special Prosecutor Satish Dinkar said the President of Chirayu Medical College, Dr. Ajay Goenka, members of the College Admissions Committee, Dr. Ravi Saxena, SN Saxena, Dr. BN Bhavsar and Dr. Virendra Mohan had applied for early bail.

The accused did not update his factual position after the first and second rounds of counseling and did not inform the director of the DME. After September 23, 2013, about 42 ineligible applicants were admitted to MBBS, Dinkar said.

Dr. VK Pandya was in charge of consultations. But due to his negligence, 48 ineligible applicants were admitted to Peoples Medical College, according to the CBI prosecutor.
