Tremble, puny humans! Your GWAR Lords and Masters Just Announced Their New Sonic Bloodbath (An Album) The New Dark Ages and a dubbed companion graphic novel Gwar in absurdity duovers.
“It’s the greatest rock record of all time. It’s the songs of a new age, a dark new age, where men live under the dim light of a technology designed to betray them,” said The Berseker Blothar. “Listen, as we have a rock and roll orgy in the ruins of the world to celebrate humanity’s descent into an age of darkness, disease, ignorance and death.”
The album, which will be the second to feature Blóthar as vocalist, is set to be released June 3 on CD and digitally with vinyl and cassette options available September 16 through GWAR’s Pit Records. The graphic novel, published via Z2 Comics, will also arrive on June 3.
Describing a bit of the storyline adopted by the graphic novel, a press release said “GWAR in the Absurd Duet chronicles the epic battle between GWAR and their alternate universe doppelgangers that the group discovers behind their prized Magic Mirror.
The graphic novel also features artwork from a number of contributors, including two within the GWAR camp, with Andy MacDonald (Wolverine, Dr Strange, wonder woman), Shane White (undone things, Brown, endless summer), Matt Maguire (GWAR) and Bob Gorman (GWAR) lend all their talents to help drive this wildly imaginative story.
