IGNOU Launches AICTE Approved Virtual MBA Program

The School of Management Studies (SOMS), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a virtual Master of Business Administration (MBA) program approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university’s online MBA program was designed with the aim of reaching the excluded and providing quality inclusive education.

The program will offer five different specializations: human resource management, financial management, marketing management, operations management and service management. “Learners are expected to take 28 courses spread over four semesters and have 116 credits. With affordable fees, the program is offered internationally via the online mode,” the IGNOU circular said. The duration of the course is two years and the maximum duration is four years.





The MBA program is offered from the admission cycle of January 2022. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent of grades (45 percent for the reserved category) can apply, without any entrance test. “Multiple media will be used for the delivery of the (online) MBA program, which includes self-study material in digital form, asynchronous and synchronous counseling, sessions through GyanDarshan, mobile app, social media platforms, Gyanvani and email support, “read the circular.
