Marilee F. Vroon Obituary – The Holland Sentinel

Marilee Ferne Vroon, 84, from Holland died on Sunday March 27, 2022 at her home.

Marilee’s life was filled with the love of her close friends and family. She was an active member of Pillar Church where she sang in the church choir, participated in the women’s Bible study, and happily served coffee and Voortman cookies. She enjoyed hosting her family for Sunday dinners, going for walks and doing crafts. She is best remembered by her grandchildren for her famous readings of Possum Come a-Knockin’ and for serving Teddy Grahams and frozen snacks.

Marilee was predeceased by her brother Forrest Homkes and brother-in-law Donald Vroon. Marilee is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul; children, Scott and Julie Vroon, Kathy and Dan Terpstra; 6 grandchildren, Jayne and Cory Schmidt, Sean Terpstra and Mary Miller, Jeffrey and Brielle Vroon, Nathan and Emilie Terpstra, Sarah and Brad Rhoads, Jacob Vroon and Morgan Bush; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bruce and Jan Homkes, Karen and Merle Vander Sluis, Larry and Carol Homkes, Rick and Darlene Homkes; in-laws, Marvin and Ruth Lanser, Virginia Vroon; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Pillar Church, 57 E. 10th St. Holland with Revs. Jon Brown and Chris DeVos officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
