Srinagar: Srinagar National Institute of Technology (NIT) social start-up Move Beyond -A Career Counseling School, of Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Development Center (IIED) hosted a special webinar for NEET aspirants, which was attended by attended 1,300 wannabes across Jammu and Kashmir.
In his post, NIT Srinagar Director Prof. Rakesh Sehgal thanked the organizers for launching such ideas to guide aspirants. Such programs are needed now and NIT will continue to run such programs in the future as well, he said.
NIT Srinagar Registrar Professor Kaiser Bukhari said Move Beyond hosted a webinar for NEET aspirants. These sessions are the need of the hour and will explore more in-depth knowledge for participants, he said.
Founder of start-up Move Beyond, Sheikh Inayat-Ullah said about 1,300 NEET aspirants attended the workshop and the program was a success.
“There are a number of students at J&K who choose medicine as a career. It is therefore important for them to understand the medical infrastructure and the industrial configuration of the world, ”said Shiekh Inayat-Ullah.
“The decision is only wise if it is taken after careful consideration of the facts. It is only after proper awareness and guidance that the student is empowered enough to make a rational decision about his career, ”he said.
Citing a survey by Wheebox, a talent assessment company for the India Skills Report 2018, Sheikh Inayat Ullah said that nearly 85% of applicants were not equipped to make career decisions.
“While the 2018 Annual International Conference on Career and Academic Guidance (IC3) also recognized that India’s 350 million students, who constitute the largest student population in the world, will need at least 1.4 million guidance counselors, ”he said.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah informed that Move Beyond has been running career awareness camps and workshops since 2015 and working with IIEDC of NIT Srinagar as a startup since 2018.
“The startup has engaged with policy makers, administration, academics, economists, sociologists, psychologists, educators, etc. to address the issue of career guidance and guidance in J&K” , did he declare.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah further stated that there is a lack of proper counseling infrastructure not only in J&K but across the country, which is one of the main reasons for the problems of unemployment, underemployment and unemployment. unfit for employment.
“So far, around 20,000 students have been counseled by the startup through various career counseling camps and webinars. It has also placed students around the world in different colleges and companies, especially in Germany, the Gulf, Australia and the United States, ”he said.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah said Fulbright Fellowship Awareness Workshop, Startup Ecosystem Webinar at J&K, Online Careers Summit Part 1 & 2, Fashion Design & Trends Conference online shops at J&K, opportunities in Germany, biggest career counseling meeting in Asia-2021, etc. are some of the awareness initiatives taken by the start-up so far.

The startup Move Beyond – A Career Counseling School is in missionary mode to establish a scientific and results-oriented counseling infrastructure in J&K UT to reach young people, understand their socio-economic issues and status, and accordingly advise for career development and growth.
