Obituary of Carma L. Wilson, Youngstown, Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – A commemorative celebration in honor of Mrs. Carma L. Wilson will take place on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio.

Ms. Carma L. Wilson, 86, left this life on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Humility House in Austintown, Ohio.

Carma was born on February 22, 1935 in Wellington, Ohio. She was the fourth of six children of the late Avon and Mamie (Rucker) DuVal.

Carma was a graduate of the 1954 class of Wellington High School.

She was a housewife, loved baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and family gatherings. She loved watching basketball, soccer, Family Feud and most of all her fingernails, she loved following her long fancy fingernails.

She was a longtime dedicated member of the Elizabeth Baptist Missionary Church. She was active within the board of directors of the principal bailiff, the culinary ministry, the assistant. Advisor to the Dare to be Different Youth group, Youth Huissier Advisor, Asst. Sunday School teacher, administrator, mission and has also worked with the Jr.

Carma is remembered by her three children, Juanita (Dwight) Wilson-Burley, Lee Ann (Stephen) Wilson-Lawrence and William (Amy) Wilson; one sister, Margaret Lacey; one brother, Colonel Aaron (Janice) DuVal; nine grandchildren Tina, William, Sharonda, Nate, Tevin (Liz), Natalie, Toni, Troy and Jayden; three goddaughters she helped raise, Shelia, Brandy and Kisia, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Carma was predeceased by her life partner, Clyde W. Frazier; one brother, Robert DuVal; two sisters, Helen Corn and Mary L. Gilliam and two brothers-in-law, Henry Gilliam and George Corn.

Due to the pandemic, all guests are urged to wear masks and practice social distancing.
