Pattaya businesses and ministry provide services to vulnerable groups

Autistic children, the elderly, women and people with disabilities have the chance to have a better life thanks to the professional project of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the enterprises of the Pattaya region.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and Pattaya Region Enterprises have launched a professional project for children with autism, the elderly, women and people with disabilities.

Minister Juti Krairiksh inaugurated the “Creating Opportunity” project at Sophon Supermarket in Pattaya to support private companies undertaking social and environmental missions through their corporate social responsibility programs.

Juti said the ministry has spearheaded social works with emphasis on economic propulsion to bring stability, wealth and sustainability to Thailand; reduce inequalities in all social classes; and to give people of all genders and ages a chance to have full access to social assistance programs.

The project aims to work with the private sector to create opportunities, careers and incomes for vulnerable groups.


Chonburi is the pilot province for the program and the event featured stalls offering services to carers of autistic children, the elderly, women and people with disabilities. Businesses could sell their wares without paying rental fees to Sophon.

Sophon Super donated 100,000 baht of products to help victims of social problems.
