RALS Healthcare launched its first RALS clinic and first RALS pharmacy at Bin Shabib Mall, Al Qusais on September 2 to deliver value-based care in Dubai. The multi-specialty polyclinic was opened in the presence of Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai , and Abdulwahed Bin Shabib, president and founder of the Bin Shabib group.

Global authorities such as the World Health Organization and the World Economic Forum estimate that by 2030, less than half of the world’s population will have access to basic and essential health services. Even before 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic, estimates predicted a shortage of 18 million health workers by 2030.

In the United Arab Emirates, the government’s efforts to address this shortage as well as to significantly expand and modernize the health system are paying off. According to a recent report, the UAE healthcare market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 10% by 2023.

With plans to create a network of 9 clinics, pharmacies and diagnostic centers across Dubai over the next 12 months, RALS Healthcare hopes to ride this wave by adopting a dynamic operating model that adapts to the changing healthcare needs of the community.

“The medical needs of a community are constantly changing and influenced by a myriad of factors, including demographics, health insurance, economics, affordability, availability of resources and unprecedented circumstances like the pandemic of Covid-19 ongoing ”, says Dr Syed Asif, Group Medical Director at RALS Healthcare.

“In today’s global climate, the role of healthcare providers is to rapidly adopt best practices and policies and to meet the emotional and physical needs of patients and their families, while dealing with the evolving workplace safety and aligning with continued cost pressure without compromising service. quality.”

Quality care

For RALS Healthcare, quality of care is a priority, which is why its value-based approach provides for the appointment of a team not only responsible for researching and analyzing the latest data and industry trends, but also the careful scrutiny of community feedback.

“With a focus on strategic innovation to meet ongoing cost pressures in healthcare, we are adaptable enough to reinvent our business approaches to meet community challenges,” says Dr. Asif. “In this way, RALS Healthcare is able to provide affordable, but uncompromising, quality care to all patients. “

To meet the specific needs of the UAE’s diverse population across various socio-economic strata, RALS Healthcare will establish clinics that are flexible enough in their services to ensure affordability in each of the communities in which they operate.

“The first phase of our plan is to set up a wide range of multi-specialty polyclinics that meet the needs of different communities based in Dubai, ranging from blue collar to elite,” says Dr Asif.

The RALS Healthcare network will also offer a range of medical services including, but not limited to, multi-specialty outpatient care, full-fledged diagnostic laboratories, radiology facilities and outpatient hospital pharmacies.

“We plan to effectively integrate all polyclinics with a full-fledged central diagnostic laboratory and radiology departments under the umbrella of RALS Healthcare,” he adds.

“The next phase is to expand RALS Healthcare to include medical equipment, medical consumables, retail distribution of vitamins and dietary supplements in the local market and throughout the Middle East.”

A holistic approach

With self-care now playing an increasingly central role in global health systems, RALS Healthcare services will also integrate some of the key pillars of self-care – knowledge, health literacy and mental well-being.

“As recently seen, the unprecedented circumstances of this global pandemic have had a significant psychosocial impact on patients and their families, and the RALS Healthcare team has identified the need to address the resulting issues regarding the ‘isolation, heightened anxiety and widespread fear,’ says Dr. Asif.

Equipped with the necessary qualifications, training and talent, the medical team at RALS Healthcare can meet the general and specialized needs of patients and their families. With general practitioners also experienced in emergency medicine, psychiatry and neurolinguistic programming for example, they offer expertise across a broad spectrum.

“The majority of our medical team have experience in various fields, while practicing in their sole area of specialization,” explains Dr. Asif. “In this way, our specialists, in addition to caring for patients in a specific area, will also proactively address the broader educational needs of patients and their families. “
