Due to a combination of cold temperatures and travel conditions, the following schedule adjustments have been reported:

* Emporia State University delays opening to 11 a.m. Thursday. All classes and activities starting before 11 a.m. on Thursday are cancelled.

Community events

* The Emporia Public Library Travel Library at the Emporia Senior Center on Thursdays is cancelled.
* The Saffordville United Methodist Church fundraising pancake breakfast on Saturday is cancelled.

Community groups and non-profit organizations

*Corner house closed Thursday and Friday. Groups and individual sessions are cancelled.
* Emporia American Legion Post 5 closed Thursday. Thursday bingo cancelled.
*Emporia Senior Center closed Thursday. Hermes Healthcare patients will be rescheduled or should call 316-260-4110
*Eureka Fellowship Meals closed Thursday.
*Madison Senior Center closed Thursday. No meal service.

City or county operations

* The Morris County Sheriff’s Office uses emergency accident reports for Thursday. Deputies will respond to and investigate personal injury crashes, possible impaired driving problems due to alcohol or drugs, hit-and-run crashes, and stalled vehicles on highways. Minor non-injury and slide collisions should be reported to the sheriff’s office at 620-767-6310, but those involved in these wrecks should exchange their insurance information, phone numbers, home addresses and email addresses. mail.
