Schools in Gloucestershire are partially closed due to Covid today and tomorrow

A number of Gloucestershire schools were closed or partially closed today due to the impact of COVID-19.

Five county schools had classes sent home or asked to stay home due to understaffing or other issues.

Four of the schools, which include establishments in Cheltenham, Forest of Dean and Gloucester, say children in affected classes are expected to be kept at home tomorrow, also Tuesday February 1.

The list of schools is updated daily by Gloucestershire County Council, the schools affected today (Monday 31st January) are as follows:

At Coaley C of E Primary in Dursley, the Robins classroom was closed today due to staff absences. This class will also not be able to go to school tomorrow, but will reopen on Wednesday.

At Lakeside Primary in Cheltenham, children in the RT class have been told to stay home today and tomorrow.

Children in class 3FG have been asked to stay home today but will be able to return to school tomorrow.

The school says the parents have been contacted by email.

At Littledean C of E Primary School in Cinderford, the Holly Leaves classroom was closed today and will remain closed on Tuesday due to Covid-related staff absences.

The school hopes to reopen the classroom on Wednesday.

Parents and guardians of affected children are asked to check the school’s website for home learning activities on the class page.

Tredworth Junior School in Gloucester closed Gold Class 3 today and tomorrow due to Covid-related staff absences.

The Shrubberies School in Stonehouse had to close the Upper 3 class today but will be open tomorrow.
