Phil sanders
Phil Sanders, host of “In search of the way of the Lord”, a nationally broadcast television ministry from Church of Christ in Edmond, Okla., will speak at Bridge Street Church of Christ, 1139 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, during a four-day meeting from October 3-6.
Sanders received a doctorate in Bible studies in 1998 and has been active in the ministry for over 45 years. He is an assistant professor at the Georgia School of Preaching and at the Asian Christian University in the Philippines, and is the author of several books including “Adrift: Postmodernism in the Church” (2000), “A faith built on sand” (2011), and “A New Life (2015)” and regularly speaks across the country.
The hours of service will be Sunday at 9.45 a.m., 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday.

Bazaar and clearance sale
The Murphytown United Methodist Church will be holding a bazaar and clearance sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 2 at the open-air church.
Housewares, crafts, baked goods, furniture, holiday items, bedding and clothing, homemade soups including chili, vegetable and potato soup, hot- dogs, sloppy joes, desserts and drinks will be available.
